Gamertag: Flyin Hive
Hey everybody, here’s a new segment that we’ll hopefully be posting on a regular basis where we can cover things we forgot to mention during the podcast. Here’s some things I missed for episode 13:
- Although I liked Scott Pilgram on a whole, the first 20 minutes seemed a bit “inside” for me. It was almost if you didn’t read the comic, you couldn’t appreciate the intro to the movie anywhere near as much as those that did.
- I will be trying to review some Xbox Live Arcade games in the next few weeks as there has been some pretty big titles released over the last several weeks. Obviously the next big title will be Halo: Reach in September.
- There seems to be a direct correlation to women with names typically reserved for men and them being a bit uh…masculine. For example, my wife and I went out to dinner last week and our waitress was named: “Tony.” Let’s just say she was rough around the edges. I’m like 10 for 10 on this one, trust me
I don’t have much else; I have to admit that I meant on keeping better notes during the show, but you get an idea of what I was trying to do here. Hope you enjoyed the podcast this week!

In Part 2, we further our discussion of race in humor and how far is too far, and things get pretty interesting. Also: the News & Nonense with Harlowe, Johnny & Dan’s review of Madden 2011, and a unique Be Glad You’re You where we post an ad on Craigslist and sift through the responses. These have to be heard to be believed!

Local favorite and stand-up comedian Greg Aidala was our guest this week on MANville. Greg stops by to talk about how he got into stand-up comedy, what the scene’s like, and joins us on our numerous forays and rants about “Last Comic Standing,” Lisa Lampanelli and much much more.
Note: MANville will return with a second part later in the week that includes the week’s news, a very special edition of Be Glad You’re You, Johnny & Dan’s review of Madden ’11 and much more!

Greg Aidala
We’re pleased to announce that MANville’s guest next week will be none other than Greg Aidala!
Greg is a nine-year veteran of the stand-up comedy circuit and has been voted “Favorite Local Stand-Up Comedian” four consecutive years by readers of The Albany Times Union. He’s performed throughout the nation with the likes of Colin Quinn, Nick DiPaolo, Kathleen Madigan, Charlie Murphy, Bo Burnham, and many more.
Every Thursday this month, he’ll appear as host of The Brew-Ha-Ha Showcase at the Dee Sarno Theater @ The Arts Center in Saratoga. Greg is also a regular guest on Channel 103.1′s “Mornings That Rock!” program, has his own company (Radial Gage Entertainment) and also teaches a Stand-Up Comedy Workshop.
Greg will join us next week to talk about his life as a stand-up comic, as well as what it takes to make it in the business. All three of us (myself, Johnny and Dan) are big fans of stand-up comedy, so we’re definitely excited to have Greg on.
Greg’s personal website can be found at GregAidala.com.
